Winter/Spring 2024 Clinics

2024 Winter Clinics start the week of January 15th and will run until May 23th. In person workouts are held on Thursdays starting at 6:00 pm. While there is still snow on the ground, workouts will be held on O’Keefe Court & Lusk Street (off Fallowfield Road) between Cedarview and Standherd. Once the snow clears, workouts will be held on the track off Fable, across the street from Mowat Farm Park.

A second hill based workout is included each week in the Weekly RunK2J email. We do not do these as a group, and these can be done self-paced.

Sunday long runs starting at 8:30 in winter and 8:00 in summer. We run from Ottawa City Hall in Winter and Brittiana Beach or Hogs Back in Summer. Watch the Weekly RunK2J email (and FaceBook Events) for weekly details. We start together on Sundays and then split up to allow for different speeds and distances.

Workouts are sent out in advance by email so they can be done alone if you are not able to attend a workout.

NEW for 2024 strength training exercises will be included in the workout email each week. Once the snow is gone and we move to the track, strength training will be done in-person at the end of the speed workout.

The group training sessions run from January 15 to May 23. The workouts are structured for running spring events including the Boston Marathon, Ottawa Race Weekend and other spring races. If you are running an early spring marathon (Boston) a run schedule starting Jan 8th can be provided.

There are three options available for the 2024 Winter session.


Option 1: Group Clinic ($80), 18 weeks.

INCLUDED:

1. Weekly RunK2J Clinic email with speed workout, suggested hill workouts, strength training exercises, Sunday long run reminders, & other topical info.

2. In person group speed workouts in Barrhaven on Thursday nights.

3. Access to submit race results and reports for RunK2J website and ‘Monthly RunK2J General Newsletter‘ for your 15+ seconds of fame!


Option 2: Group Clinic with Personal Schedule ($130), 18 weeks.

INCLUDED

All content in the above ‘Group Clinic’, PLUS

  • A one-time personal schedule will be provided based on your running goals for the session/season.

This program is designed for runners who can not make it out to Barrhaven on Thursday nights, but still want to add some structure to their winter training.

Members will receive the Weekly RunK2J Clinic email as outlined in the ‘Group Clinic’ above, and are encouraged to submit race results & reports for your extra motivation and recognition in the Monthly RunK2J General Newsletter. That’s a 18 week winter/spring membership for $40.
